Reading boss Steve Coppell may hand new signing Marek Matejovsky a full debut tonight against Chelsea.
But he made enough of an impression in that short spell against champions Manchester United and on the training ground that Coppell is now prepared to fast-track his route to the first team, especially as Brynjar Gunnarsson is struggling with a groin injury.
Coppell said: "We are just getting to know Marek. He is working very hard at his English and is having lessons every day. He is really adapting to life in England very quickly, as we thought he would.
"He is bright and very clever in his passing. He can see a pass that others can't and we hope he can bring something to our game that we don't have. It won't be long before he will be making an impact in the first team."
Royals skipper Graeme Murty confirmed that the 26-year-old had already adapted well to his new surroundings.
He said: "He is a fantastic player who is technically very good. We need to learn more about him to get the best out of him as a team but of what we have seen so far everyone has been very impressed."
