Kenny Cooper cannot wait to get into action with MLS expansion franchise Portland Timbers.
The 26-year old striker joined the Timbers from German outfit 1860 Munich earlier this week and is looking forward to being a part of a new environment with a relatively new club.
"I'm extremely excited to be a part of Portland's inaugural MLS season," Cooper said from Germany. "I know there's a lot of excitement about the team and a lot of passionate supporters. I'm really looking forward to being in that environment."
And the former FC Dallas star is also excited about a fresh challenge.
"Certainly I hope to be a starter and an important part of the team. There's no guarantee that I will be the starter," he added.
Timbers coach John Spencer hinted that Cooper would be an instant hit with the club due to his previous MLS exploits.
"Kenny has valuable MLS experience," Spencer said. "He knows what it takes to score goals and win in this league."
