McGarry had to put up with the rotting smell for two months but no-one has owned up and the camaraderie in the dressing room looks like keeping Motherwell on a high going into the new season.

He said: "I still have not found out who is responsible. Paul Quinn is always about somewhere and he needs to be watched.

"I found one fish - it was hidden under my spare tyre. The other was under my carpet. The boys were telling me it was an electrical fault.

"I was driving about for two months and none of the boys would get in the car with me."
