‘Consistent and focused’ Leicester deserved win - Chelsea boss Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admits Leicester City thoroughly deserved their 2-1 win on Monday night.

The Blues were beaten by the high-flying Foxes at the King Power Stadium after goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez either side of the break had the home side in prime position.

Chelsea managed to fight back with a much-improved final 30 minutes which saw Loic Remy come off the bench and head home in the 77th minute but in the end they came up short against a more determined opposition.

In the wake of the defeat, Mourinho told Sky Sports that although his charges found some form late, they were not good enough to get over Claudio Ranieri's in-form Foxes.

"They deserved to win because they were better than us during a longer period of time," he said.

"I think we were the best team for 20 to 25 minutes, maximum 30 minutes. They were the best team for one hour.

"They were very consistent and focused. They didn't make any mistakes.

"They were aggressive with everybody playing high intensity, high tempo and with a great mentality."
