Claims Manchester United have paid over €40 million for PSV Eindhoven star Memphis Depay have been rubbished.

It's been suggested the total fee United will pay PSV for Depay - including bonuses - is €43 million.

However, Eindhoven Dagblad says United will pay no more than €31 million for the Dutchman.

United have coughed up €27 million to sign Depay, with another €4 million due based on appearances and success.

There's also an estimate of a 10 per cent sell-on fee.
