Colorado Rapids have teamed up with Ciao Telecom for their first shirt sponsor in the history of the club.
The Rapids and the global telecommunications company have agreed to a five-year deal which will see the Ciao logo feature on the Denver club's match jerseys, training and travel gear, as well as around Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Rapids president Tim Hinchey was thrilled to finally secure a major sponsor for the club after never having a shirt sponsor in the 18 years of the club's existence.
"It's been a major initiative and objective and goal to me personally and obviously the club and ownership," Hinchey told MLSsoccer.com.
"It's been challenging for a variety of reasons.
"It feels a lot better now [that we have a deal].
"First and foremost, I think it's a massive boost to the credibility of where our group [is]. "[Ownership] believe in us. This hopefully is just another indication that we're on the road to success."
