The Colombian Federation and CONMEBOL have offered their support to Liverpool star Luis Diaz after his parents were kidnapped earlier today.
Diaz's mother has since been returned, though his father remains missing.
The Colombian Federation stated: “The Colombian Football Federation rejects the security situation that the parents of our player Luis Díaz are going through.
"From FCF, we express our solidarity with him and his entire family and call on the competent authorities to act as quickly as possible to resolve the situation."
CONMEBOL also said: “South American football expresses its solidarity with Colombian player Luis Díaz, who is going through a difficult family moment. From CONMEBOL, we hope that the corresponding authorities act effectively and quickly to resolve this terrible situation."
