Cocky Bendtner putting Arsenal staff offside

Nicklas Bendtner's cocky attitude is well known inside Arsenal.

The young Dane scored in last night's Carling Cup victory over Newcastle United and before the match remarked: "Everything I do I always feel very confident - whether it's tennis, badminton, football, whatever. I just go out there and think I can do it and most of the time I can. What I'm good at I don't mind saying because it's not a secret, is it?

"For me confidence is so important. It's good to know I can go out on the field and feel I can take on the world."

Bendtner's attitude has not always endeared him to the staff at Arsenal - or at Birmingham during his year-long loan spell last season - since arriving at the club from Copenhagen as a 16-year-old.

"Nicklas fully rates himself. He thinks he should be in the team every game. He thinks he's better than [Emmanuel] Adebayor and he's not afraid to tell anyone what he thinks either," one Arsenal insider told the Daily Mail.
