Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is confident Ryan Shawcross is happy at the Brit.
The defender has been linked with Manchester City in recent days.
Coates told The Sentinel: "I suppose it can be difficult if you are not a European glamour club, although Stoke are not the only ones outside of that, and then there is the London-centric media to contend with because they are going to watch and comment more on games that are on their own doorstep.
"But ultimately I believe it is down to Ryan continuing to perform as well as he has been for us at Stoke City, to make his case and get himself noticed.
"In my view he can certainly do that and I am obviously hoping he will get that chance again."
