Tom Cleverley is set to remain with Manchester United after missing out on a late move elsewhere.
The 25-year old midfielder was being linked with a move to either Aston Villa or Everton but neither side have pushed on with a proposed deal.
Cleverley reportedly spent Monday at Villa's training ground at Bodymoor Heath but a deal did not eventuate meaning he will now remain at Old Trafford.
The 13-time England international was also a target for Everton earlier on Monday but that deal also didn't pan out indicating that Louis van Gaal may now send him out on loan as he is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this season.
