Claudio Ranieri offers Watford farewell from training carpark

Claudio Ranieri has spoken of his sacking by Watford while in his car!

The Italian manager was dismissed by the Pozzo family who own Watford on Monday after just 112 days in charge of the Hornets, who slipped into the relegation zone via a 3-0 home loss to Norwich on Friday night.

Ranieri offered a goodbye message from his car as he left the club's training ground for the final time: "I'm not used to speaking after this (type of scenario) that happened, but I wish only good luck to Watford: to the fans, to the board, everything.

"That's football but I believe that these three new players, Watford can be safe. Also arrives a fantastic manager (sic)."

Former Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson will commit to the club until the end of the season and then review whether he will head into next season at the helm in the summer.
