Former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is in talks with Sampdoria.

Eusebio Di Francesco was sacked by Samp this week.

And should Ranieri be hired, it would mean for the second time in only a few months, Ranieri will be replacing Di Francesco, having taken over as caretaker manager at Roma in March.

Ranieri met with Samp directors last night, with significant steps taken in reaching an agreement.

He has been offered a contract to the end of the season worth €1m plus bonuses, with automatic renewal for another season if Samp avoid relegation.
