West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke was delighted with Nicolas Anelka's debut in their friendly defeat to Hannover.
The Frenchman looked quick and powerful and went close with one curling shot after a good turn on the touchline.
Clarke said: "Nicolas brings quality.
"His touches on the ball are good. He rarely gives it away and he always finds a team-mate with a pass. As he gets fitter and stronger he will get sharper and score goals."
