Ciaran Clark has praised Aston Villa teammate Chris Herd for his performance in defeat to Fulham.

The Aussie midfielder stepped in as centre-half in the absence of Ron Vlaar.

"He had an injury and has done really well in training," said Clark. "He did very well on Sunday and no-one could have asked any more of him."
