Claims of Melbourne Victory ace Carlos Hernandez making an appearance for local outfit Brimbank Stallions last week are well wide of the mark.
It was reported - and widely condemned - that the Costa Rica international turned out for Brimbank barely 48 hours before Victory's clash at Perth Glory.
However, it's since been revealed by Brimbank and Hernandez, himself, that he NEVER pulled the boots on for the Stallions.
Hernandez took to Facebook to post on a Victory's supporters forum to plead his innocence and club president Sam Raniolo was in touch with Victory coach Jim Magilton yesterday to make clear the Costa Rican never took the field with any senior team. The most he did was a friendly 'kickabout' with the club's juniors.
Hernandez made an appearance at Brimbank to help promote their small-sided games division. The Stallions enjoy a close relationship with Victory and boast four ex-players currently in the A-League club's youth team.
