Arsenal keeper Vito Mannone made his Champions League debut in Arsenal's dramatic 3-2 win away to Standard Liege. The Italian had only ever played one first team game before Wednesday night and he hopes the experience will help his confidence.
"It wasn't very easy for me making my debut in the Champions League at 21," Mannone told Sky Sport Italia.
"If your mind starts ticking, then you find too many negative things. We were away from home too in front of a big crowd, but I stayed calm."
Mannone says he now targets regular first team action.
"Some people prefer staying on the bench and earn their money and that's it, without accepting challenges," added the shot-stopper.
"I am different, because I want to play and improve and I like a challenge."
