Cisse Jr turns down Liverpool, Man Utd to join Crewe

The son of former Sunderland and Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has rejected a Premier League move to sign with Crewe Alexandra.

The Daily Express says Cassius Cisse has clearly imparted some of his father's quality, who can boast stints at Liverpool, Marseille and Lazio.

The eight-year-old snubbed the chance to follow in his dad's footsteps at Anfield and also at Manchester United and Everton, where he had trials.

Mum Jude announced on Instagram earlier today that her son had signed his first professional contract with League One outfit Crewe.

"I proudly watched this little man sign his 1st professional contract last night. It has been an intense few months travelling between 3 elite academies.

"It was an extremely tough decision to help him make with him being so young & The most important factor is that he enjoys it & as a result Cassius made HIS choice to sign with Crewe Alex.

"We are extremely grateful to LFC, MUFC & EFC for all the time they have invested in Cassius which has all helped him progress to this day & hope their support will continue."
