Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse wants to sign permanently from Olympique Marseille.
He told the Mirror: "A lot of people tried to put me off going to Sunderland saying, 'It is not big enough for you'. It is a shame to say that. You can see the training ground and stadium are really good.
"You have to judge for yourself and not listen to other people. I will do what I think and it is good for me.
"I have to judge for myself and if it is no good for me it is my mistake. For the moment it is a good choice. Before I signed I knew that Sunderland was a good project.
"I knew they had got promoted, stayed in the division and I really wanted to add to the club and help get to the top 10. The way they talked to me was enough. It was really interesting and exciting. I feel like I am just hitting speed, finding my level. I have come from Marseille to Sunderland, but I am settled well.
"It is a big change but I am a football player and I need to adapt to wherever I am going. I am not the only one to decide if it will be permanent.
"The club will have to decide too. If I am enjoying it I think it will be OK, but it is a bit early to talk about that. I will just try to play my football and do my best."
