Chivas USA want Alvarez and hoping to sign Grenoble's Dieuze

Chivas USA have confirmed they are keen to sign MLS Re-Entry Draft selection Arturo Alvarez whilst stating their admiration for Grenoble's Nicolas Dieuze.

The Rojiblancos selected former Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes and FC Dallas forward Alvarez earlier this month but he has yet to agree to a move to Los Angeles despite the fact Chivas head coach Robin Fraser is keen on acquiring his services.

"I've made it clear to him as well, that we'd like to have him here," Fraser told MLSsoccer.com. "But in the meantime, we have to continue to try and build the team so if there comes a point where we acquire so many players and there's only so much room in the salary cap that we can't fit him in, then we decide from there."

One of those players is 32-year old French midfielder Dieuze who had a trial with the Goats back in October.

"It's a puzzle that we're trying to put together and Nicolas is certainly a good player, who would be a good player for us," Fraser added. "But it's a decision that is still to be made - if that's the place that we want to spend the money vs. spending it on another position and fulfilling another need."
