Chivas USA has acquired defender Yamith Cuesta, a member of the Colombian under-20 national team, on loan from Colombian club Expreso Rojo. The team said Friday that Cuesta will be eligible to play for Chivas USA pending receipt of his international transfer certificate.
Cuesta made his debut in the Colombian First Division with Bogota club Santa Fe in 2007, playing 24 matches and scoring two goals. Last year, he joined Expreso Rojo in the Colombian Second Division.
Chivas USA also added defender Jim Curtin and forward Ante Razov to the disabled list. Both players will miss a minimum of six matches, making them ineligible until at least Sept. 26 against the New York Red Bulls.
