Chivas USA sacks head coach Chelis

Jose Luis Sanchez Sola has been sacked as head coach of Chivas USA.

The man more commonly known as Chelis has met his demise after just 12 matches of the 2013 MLS season in which the Goats won three matches on their way to 11 points.

Chelis has been sacked effective immediately with the Los Angeles club swiftly appointing Chivas Guadalajara sporting director Jose Luis Real Casillas as the new head coach.

A Chivas statement read: "Chivas USA announced today that the club has mutually agreed to part ways with Head Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, 'Chelis', due to the team's poor performance on the field.

"The newly-appointed Head Coach will arrive to Chivas USA accompanied by Marco Fabian Vazquez, current Technical Director and champion with Chivas Guadalajara's U-20 team, who will fulfill the duties of assistant coach once all legal paperwork and procedures are met accordingly.

"Chivas USA would like to welcome Head Coach Jose Luis Real Casillas to his new position within the organization."
