Chivas USA forward Alan Gordon was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 24 of the 2010 MLS season. Gordon assisted on both goals in Chivas USA's 2-0 win over the New England Revolution on Friday, September 10 at The Home Depot Center.
Gordon, acquired in a trade with the LA Galaxy on August 5, created Chivas USA's first goal on Friday with a beautiful through ball in the 6th minute which found Justin Braun behind the Revolution defense. Later in the first half, Gordon took a hard pass from Michael Lahoud and put it at the feet of Paulo Nagamura, who struck from 20 yards. In just 68 minutes of work at forward alongside Braun, Gordon led the team in shots and helped the Red-and-White earn a critical win as the team fights to keep its playoff hopes alive.
