Mexican coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola ahs been appointed as the new head coach of Chivas USA.
The 53-year old, also known as 'Chelis', was heavily linked with the job earlier this week and it has now been confirmed that he will take the reins at the Home Depot Center.
Chivas owners have been wanting to get back to the clubs Mexican roots and there is no better way than to appoint a coach who has experienced in his homeland with clubs such as Puebla, Tecos and Correcaminos.
"Very honored, very grateful and committed to fulfill the goals of the institution," Chelis said.
"I know that with the support of the staff currently in place, my transition to MLS will be that much easier. We are going to take on this new challenge with lots of energy and aspirations."
Chelis replaces Robin Fraser in the Chivas hot seat after he was sacked in November and is the second Mexican to coach the club following Javier Ledesma's interim role in 2005.
