Chivas USA have signed promising defender Andrew Ribeiro to a professional contract.
The 23-year old has been signed by the Goats from the Los Angeles clubs U23 setup after being involved with them since last fall.
The Green Bay, Wisconsin native played for the Portland Timbers UDL side in 2012 during his college offseason from the Creighton Bluejays before being picked up by the New York Red Bulls in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft but failed to win a contract.
Ribeiro trialled with Brazilian side Vasco da Gama last year before joining the Harrisburg City Islanders for the 2013 USL Pro season.
