Pascal Chimbonda is in negotiations for a new contract at Tottenham and could agree fresh terms next week, according to his agent.

Spurs have announced new deals for the core of their first team over the past couple of years but the 28 year old has not extended his contract since arriving from Wigan at the start of last season.

"We are in talks over a new deal for Pascal," Chimbonda's agent, Willie McKay, told www.skysports.com. "I have spoken to (Tottenham sporting director) Damien Comolli about an extension for Pascal.

"Talks are going well and we are waiting until after the next match to try and conclude things."
