Chievo Verona have sacked coach Rolando Maran.

Maran was shown the door after defeat to Roma on Monday.

Primavera youth team boss Lorenzo D'Anna has been named caretaker coach for the remainder of the season.

Maran's contract was due to expire in June anyway, but he had been at the Stadio Bentegodi since October 2014.

D'Anna is a 46-year-old former defender who played for Chievo from 1994 to 2007, eventually retiring in 2008.

He has been working at the club at various youth levels ever since.
