Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini admits their Coppa Italia victory over Fiorentina was beyond expectations.

The Bianconeri had lost the first leg 2-1 at home, but won 3-0 last night.

"In all honesty, it exceeded our rosiest expectations!" the defender told Rai Sport.

"We had control for 90 minutes and never seemed in doubt. This is proof all those who play here deserve to be at Juventus.

"We wanted to take the game in hand, not with a high tempo as such, but to gradually pile the pressure on Fiorentina. We knew they would suffer the pressure of such a good first leg result.

"We tried to hit them in open spaces and on the counter, which is where they tend to suffer. They build moves with many men and long passing moves, but that leaves them open on the counter when you win the ball back."
