Chicago Fire are believed to be showing considerable interest in Germinal Beerschot striker Sherjill MacDonald.

The 27-year old Dutchman, who is of Surinam descent, is being tracked by the Fire with head coach Frank Klopas admitting that the former Anderlecht and west Bromwich Albion man is a target for his club.

"He's one of four or five candidates we're looking at," Klopas said.

"It's a short list of guys that we've done a lot of work on. We're looking to add another striker."
