Chicago Fire's Klopas delighted with off-season signings

Chicago Fire technical director Frank Klopas admits his delight at the signings the MLS club has made during the off-season.

The Fire has brought in experienced coach Carlos de los Cobos along with some key players including Krzysztof Krol and Julio Martinez for the 2010 season and Klopas holds high hopes that the new additions, particularly the coach can provide positive results for the club.

"I think that we made very good decisions going forward," Klopas told Chicago Fire Confidential. "We hired a very experienced coach that I think has... the right mindset. We're bringing in a soccer fitness coach that has tremendous experience and can help the players a lot this season with performance and speed.

"We've worked hard. We've taking scouting trips, we've looked through the college teams to get prepared for the draft. Right now we feel good, let's just hope it continues and works out in the end."

The Fire finished second in the Eastern Conference last season and fifth overall and Klopas will be hoping his off-season coups can help the club go better than that this season.
