Chicago Fire praised for making Magee transfer

Mike Magee's move from LA Galaxy to Chicago Fire has been lauded as the 'Transaction of the Year' on MLSsoccer.com.

The Fire traded the rights for Robbie Rogers to the Galaxy in order to pick up Magee in late May when he had already scored six goals early in the 2013 MLS season for the LA club.

After arriving at Toyota Park, the 29-year old netted 15 more times to finish with 21 season goals which helped him land the 2013 MLS MVP award.

The official MLS website voted Magee's transfer as the best for the season ahead of Jose Goncalves shift from Swiss club FC Sion to New England Revolution, which saw him voted MLS Defender of the Year, and MLS Team of the Year selectee Diego Valeri who joined Portland Timbers from Argentine club Lanus.
