Chicago Fire adds Hunter Jumper to roster

Chicago Fire have signed MLS SuperDraft selection Hunter Jumper to their 2012 roster.

The 23-year old defender was taken with the 28th overall pick in this year's draft and has managed to win a contract with the Fire after impressing in pre-season training.

"Hunter brings strength, smarts and athleticism to the Fire," said head coach Frank Klopas.

"Since seeing him at January's combine and through preseason, he's shown the ability to transition his game to the next level and adds depth to our back line."

Jumper spent the past four years at the University of Virginia and was a 2011 NSCAA second team all-American and has played both for the US U17 and U18 teams.
