Chester desperate for West Brom action ahead of Euro2016

West Bromwich Albion defender James Chester has pleaded with club manager Tony Pulis to give him more playing time as his Euro2016 dreams hang in the balance.

The Wales international has made only one start for the Baggies since his £8million from Hull City in the summer, coming off the bench just twice since his debut.

Following Wales' 3-2 friendly defeat to Holland, the 26-year-old said: "I have to start playing at West Brom because it's impossible to play at this level and not be playing for your club week-in, week-out.

"It's nearly impossible to not play every week and then come to this level expecting to be 100%, which is what you need to be to stop players of the class of Robben and Wesley Sneijder. And that's the level we will face in France.

"A lot has been made of Holland not qualifying but you only have to see the quality they had against us to see they are still one of the best in the world and every game we have in France will be of that level.

"I need to be playing at my club to give me the best chance of going to France and playing when we get there. I don't think it's good enough to be playing for Wales when I'm not playing for West Brom."

Chester doesn't forget to mention that he still has the support of his national manager Chris Coleman.

He adds: "He said I've been brilliant since I've been here which is nice to hear.

"If I'm fit I've got a really good chance of playing. It's good to know but it's up to me to go back to West Brom and play and I'm finding it difficult at the moment."
