Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard was delighted to be amongst the goals in their 5-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
He was a constant threat against Blackburn and the two goals added to the Champions League strike three days earlier. His first on Saturday came shortly after half-time.
"It was nice because we needed this goal because 1-0 at half time we knew they were a danger still," he said.
"It was a relatively simple goal, I just had to make sure I kept over the ball and got a bit of pace on it so it was nice to put a bit of daylight between us and them.
"We had to work for the win. Blackburn are a difficult team to play against, they put a lot of pressure on with long balls, but once we broke the deadlock and pushed on in the second half, that was it.
"We were disappointed last week because we didn't play too badly [against Villa] but we conceded on set pieces and if you do that at this level you are going to lose games.
"We wanted to bounce back and we have done that in style. It was a very determined performance that showed what we are all about."
