Chelsea are wrapping up an £18 million deal for Brazilian sensation Alexandre Pato.

The News of the World says the 17-year-old striker, who currently plays for Internacional de Porto Alegre, has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Benfica.

But Chelsea have moved quickly to agree a deal as they fear Pato will attract even more interest at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, which starts on June 30.

And they are believed to have offered a package which could ultimately be worth a sensational £18m to Internacional.

Pato's agent Gilmar Veloz revealed: "The deal is almost done because the two clubs have discussed the matter in the last few days."
