Chelsea are making a serious move for the free-scoring midfielder, who only joined Atletico last summer from Real Sociedad.

Super agent Jorge Mendes, who takes care of Blues boss Jose Mourinho, is acting as an intermediary in negotiations.

Mendes also has a direct interest in the talks, as he is keen to send his client, Chelsea fullback Filipe Luis, back to Atletico as part of a deal for Griezmann.

Atletico will seek at least €40 million to sell the Frenchman.
