Chelsea willing to send Werner to Dortmund as part of Haaland deal

Chelsea are willing to send Timo Werner back to Germany to boost their chances of landing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Football Insider says Chelsea are considering offering Werner to Dortmund as part of a cash-plus-player bid for 20-year-old sensation Haaland

Haaland has become one of the most highly sought-after young players in Europe following his stunning performances in the Champions League and Bundesliga this season.

And the Norwegian forward is expected to be the subject of interest from a number of elite clubs this summer, with the Blues and Manchester United among those thought to be strongly interested.

Werner, meanwhile, has struggled to adapt in his first season in the Premier League, managing just five goals in the Premier League since he made the move to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig last summer.

Chelsea are open to the idea of using him as a makeweight in any deal for Haaland.

Dortmund are expected to demand an eye-watering £120m for any clubs who wish to sign the star at the end of the season.

But Chelsea believe they would be able to knock that price down if Werner were to go the other way.
