Chelsea are planning a £14 million offer for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.

The Daily Express says Blues will make a £14million move for Cahill in January.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas made enquiries about the England defender during the summer but was frightened off by the £18m asking price - which also put paid to Tottenham's deadline-day bid.

But both clubs will go back in for Cahill, who has become an integral part of the England squad.
