Chelsea whizkid Gilmour aiming to emulate Mount with loan spell next season

Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour will seek a loan move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Scotland midfielder was injured with a serious knee injury until November last year.

But after returning to fitness, he played just two-and-a-half Premier League games under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Gilmour has now decided to follow in the footsteps of teammate Mason Mount by gaining senior experience on loan, per The Sun.

Mount spent two seasons on loan - at Vitesse and Derby County - and is now one of Tuchel's most important players.

19-year-old Gilmour will compete for Scotland at the Euros this summer.

Some have called for Steve Clarke to start the diminutive midfielder after his impressive cameo against Luxembourg last weekend.
