Chelsea found themselves a goal down at half-time of Wednesday night's clash with Leicester City.
Marc Albrighton had given the Foxes an unlikely lead just before the break but the Blues were determined to set up a day of celebration for the supporters.
Goals from Didier Drogba, John Terry and Ramires gave Jose Mourinho's men a 3-1 victory which saw them move 13 points clear on top of the table meaning they only need to beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to hold the title aloft.
Veteran striker Drogba said this was a plan of the players to win the premiership in front of their fans and was delighted when it came to fruition.
"We wanted to make sure the Crystal Palace game would be the one to give us the league so we pushed and scored fantastic goals," said the club legend.
