Chelsea are believed to be showing interest in Nigerian youngster Kelechi Onyewuenyi.

AllNigeriaSoccer reports that Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo has commenced talks with the youngster's representatives.

Onyewuenyi is currently with MLS club Houston Dynamo's U18s side and has reportedly been offered to Norwegian giants Rosenborg.

However, the 17-year-old Texan-born midfielder of Nigerian parentage, who has been compared to Mikel John Obi, is being watched closely by Emenalo and the current Premier League leaders could make a serious move for his services in the summer.

Chelsea previously signed Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls showing they aren't afraid to scour the MLS market.
