Chelsea have reportedly placed a £12million price tag on Loic Remy, amid interest from Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail is reporting the Magpies are desperate to add another striker to their books after agreeing to terms with Tottenham for the services of winger Andros Townsend, who is set to undergo a medical on Wednesday.
It is understood Newcastle have identified Remy, who scored 14 goals in 26 appearances during a loan spell at St James' Park during the 2013/14 season, as their primary target after talks stalled with West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino.
Remy is reportedly seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the current campaign in order to secure more regular first team football.
