Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has laughed off Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's "typical Germans" jibe at Bayern Munich.

Ballack admits he took some pleasure from seeing his old team Bayern Munich go through to the semi-finals.

He also laughed when team-mates Frank Lampard and Joe Cole told him about Ferguson's 'typical Germans' jibe over Rafael's sending-off.

Ballack told The Sun: "It was a strange thing to say because none of the players who went to the referee were German."
