And their top target Manuel Neuer is not looking likely to renew his deal at Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old rejected an offer from Bayern, per Bild, as he wants a five year deal.

Bayern have Alexander Nubel who they want to bring in from Schalke, and they do not want to halt his progress.

Neuer wants long term security, and Chelsea may be able to offer it to him.

The German thinks he can play at the top level for many years to come.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard badly wants a top keeper he can trust, but he must first convince Neuer to leave the comfort of his homeland.
