Chelsea and England captain John Terry has scoffed at Croatian claims that Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric was deliberately targeted so he would miss next week's World Cup qualifier.
Eduardo suffered a broken leg after a challenge by Birmingham's Martin Taylor last year and playmaker Modric is in plaster having been caught by another Brum player Lee Bowyer last weekend.
But Terry insisted: "That's not the way we play. We're a very honest country and it's a very honest league we play in. If players have that in the back of their mind they shouldn't be playing football.
"English players go out there to win the game. There's no diving and they're not trying to kick key players they might come up against.
"They're thinking about one thing and that's winning the game."
