Chelsea skipper Terry: Luiz, Torres have forced us all to step up training

Chelsea captain John Terry says the arrivals of Fernando Torres and David Luiz have forced everyone to pick up their performances in training.

Terry has revealed that their arrival has brought a fear factor to him and the rest and Carlo Ancelotti's squad as they look to rescue their season.

"We all have to be at our best now because we know there is someone ready to step in and take our place," said Terry. "That goes for every player in the side. David Luiz could come in and take my place because he's an incredible player.

"It's the same with Fernando Torres coming in when we've already got Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. Maybe the whole squad needed a shake-up - and we've certainly had that with those two coming in.
