Chelsea skipper Terry: Capital One Cup always important to me

Chelsea captain John Terry says he's always loved the Capital One Cup.

Jose Mourinho led Chelsea to a League Cup final win against Liverpool in 2005 - which began a run of trophies during his first spell at the club.

"A lot of people write this competition off, but for me it's huge," Terry told chelseafc.com. "We look back at 2004/05 and it made a huge impact to our confidence and our momentum.

"It was the first one we won as a team which made a big impact throughout the squad. It set us on our way and gave us a taste of what we wanted, and we wanted more. It brought the squad closer together.

"With that in mind it's the first one for all of us this time. I know everyone has been speaking about the potential of this squad and the manager is right - we need to go and win trophies to be up there."
