Chelsea are ready to announce the signing of Atletico Paranaense midfielder Nathan. The London Evening Standard says Chelsea are expected to announce they have signed Brazil starlet Nathan after Porto's late bid to scupper the deal failed.

Nathan passed a medical and agreed terms with Chelsea earlier this month over a £4.5million switch from Atletico PR.

Porto have accepted defeat and Chelsea are expected to confirm the switch shortly. However, work permit issues mean Nathan will be loaned out to play elsewhere in Europe next season.
