Chelsea's Torres: Other teams will now try to break Spain's record

Fernando Torres believes other national teams will now be trying to break the record set by Spain on the weekend.

The Spanish team recorded their third major tournament victory in a row by beating Italy 4-0 to clinch the Euro2012 title and Chelsea striker Torres suggests it will be the goal of other nations to try and emulate that marvellous feat.

"We have dominated from start to finish and enjoyed a magical evening. Now we can say that national teams of the future will concentrate on us to try and make history," he told Marca.

"We had luck in some moments of the championship but at the end we will reflect on what it means in Spanish football history.

"Football can be just or unjust like that depending how you look at it and that is why we like it so much."
