Chelsea's Torres, Barcelona's Villa run riot as Spain hammer Tahiti

Spain have demolished Tahiti 10-0 in the Confederations Cup in their meeting in Rio de Janeiro.

Fernando Torres and David Villa did most of the damage with seven goals between them as La Roja piled on four in the first half and six in the second at the Maracana.

Torres opened the scoring in the fifth minute before David Silva made it 2-0 just after the half-hour mark. Torres then grabbed a second two minutes later not long before Villa opened his account on the night.

The Barcelona star then made it 5-0 early in the second half as Chelsea ace Torres completed his hat-trick before the hour-mark. Villa then emulated Torres in the 64th minute before Juan Mata got in on the act prior to his club teammate scoring for the fourth time with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Silva completed the rout with a minute to go as Spain fired their way into the semi-finals ahead of the final group fixture against Nigeria on the weekend.
