Chelsea's Schwarzer on verge of Leicester move

Mark Schwarzer is set to depart Chelsea to join Leicester City on a permanent deal.

The 42-year old Australian goalkeeper is believed to have agreed a deal with the Foxes which will take him through to the summer of 2016.

Former Middlesbrough and Fulham star Schwarzer joined Chelsea in July 2013 but is set to depart after 18 months to add strength to the Foxes keeping stocks.

Nigel Pearson's number one custodian Kasper Schmeichel is currently sidelined with a broken bone in his foot with second-choice Ben Hamer stepping up to take the gloves at the King Power Stadium.

It is suggested that Schwarzer could even make his Leicester debut in this weekend's FA Cup third round clash with Newcastle United at home.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, the Socceroos games record holder made 12 appearances for the Blues including three in the Champions League.
